Bosch is the leading world producer of automotive and industrial machinery, consumer goods. For a century the name Bosch has associated with technologies of the future and great inventions which made the history.
Bosch is the Company known all aver the world by its wide range of household equipment, industrial equipment, electronic, mechanical and electrical equipment for cars, systems of communication, electric tools and etc.
The Company Bosch was founded by Robert Bosch in 1886. At first it was a small firm in
Stuttgart with the name of “Workshop of Fine Mechanics and Electrotechnology” which produced ignition systems for automobiles and all types of engines. From the very beginning Bosch was governed by the principle “It is better to lose money than the customer’s trust”. The imperishability of his promises, the faith in quality of the goods, produced by his Company has always been more important for him than a momentary profit.
In 1887 he invented the first in the world low-voltage magneto for stationary gas engines and 10 years later he for the first time installed into an automobile a prototype of the ignition system – a famous magneto BOSCH. Since that time the name “Robert Bosch” and automobiles have been inseparable. Since 1902 when the serial deliveries of spark-plugs BOSCH and magneto BOSCH to assembly lines of automobile companies began, this name has become the symbol of quality and reliability. Since 1913 the Company has become the leading supplier of starters and generators for automobile concerns in
Europe .
Constantly expanding its production, “Bosch” continued searching innovation technical solutions. Here are some parts and systems of modern automobiles which has become customary now. They have been designed by the Company “Bosch”:
1925 – distributors and ignition coils, high voltage cables;
1927 – high pressure fuel pump for diesel engines;
1951 – injection systems for petrol engines;
1967 – electronic injection systems for petrol engines “Jetronic”;
1976 – started to produce lambda probe
1978 – working out antiskid braking system ABS;
1979 – “Motronic” – digital injection and ignition control system;
1986 – serial production of anti slippage systems ASR;
1986 – electronic injection system of diesel oil;
1995 – system of adjustment of automobiles dynamics FDR.
Today the Company “Bosch” offers about 100 thousand articles of spare parts and components almost for all automobiles of the world. Detailed enumeration of the whole product range can take several hours, so we will stop at the most important groups.
They are:
Engine and fuel injection control systems,
Ignition systems,
Starters and generators,
Voltage adjusters, relays and circuit breakers,
Starter storage battery, little attended and unattended,
Main and secondary headlights, lighting units
Signals and fanfares,
Drive equipment,
Windscreen wipers,
Small-size electric motors,
Antiskid braking system,
Anti slippage systems,
Antitheft system,
and, of course, known to everyone spark-plugs, drive belts, windscreen wipers, different filters.
Such automobile concerns as “Mercedes Benz”, “BMW”, “Audi”, “Volkswagen”, “Volvo”, “SAAB” and many others has been cooperating with the Company “Robert Bosch” for many years installing equipment “Bosch” into their cars on assembly lines.
Today in the Concern “Bosch” work more than 200 thousand people in many countries of the world and it takes the leading position on the market of household equipment. Such impressive results have been achieved due to sticking to the principle invented by Robert Bosch: “It is better to lose money than the customer’s trust”.
